good bye fellow victorian

amidst of my exam, a fellow singaporean was made hostage at a terrorist attack at mumbai.

News of her being caught in that tight and intense situation got the nation reeled.

News of how the authorities there were attempting to rescue as well as to negotiate seemed to be of no avail

Not long later, we rx news that the fellow singaporean, a young 28 female lawyer did not make it. i was shocked- truly, she was the first singaporean victim of terrorism.

Later when i realised she was a victorian, the impact was greater. i dunno why. perhaps
we were connected. we had somewhat a familiar history- VJ anthem, VJ cheers, Principal Lee, the Welshman, Ms Lam... all of a sudden, the reality of death and the threats of terrorism became more real.

how old was she? 28, merely 4 years my senior. I wrote what Lynn wrote in the ST today. Indeed, a she's a fellow Gen-Y, the post-independence babies, like me....

Deeply saddened.

those who love her, esp her husband; it must be extremely hard, esp after yday's cremation.
that's when harshness sets in, silence of the night is capable of bringing you back to today, yuck!

I pray that you will be well ...
